Day 1

10:15 Arrive Guaymas Airport (GYM) for check-in
11:00 Depart GYM
11:45 Arrive Santa Rosalia Airport, transfer to town via airport van.
12:45 Walking tour around the Santa Rosalia City Plaza, lunch.
2:00 After lunch, more to see: Santa Barbara Church (Gustave Eiffel), City Square, restored French buildings, wood houses and balconies. –We’ll stop at the El Boleo (fresh baked goods) and if we have time visit the Museo Historico Minero (museum about copper mining and cultural exchange.)
3:30 Bus departs for the San Ignacio
5:00 Move into Ignacio Springs Bed & Breakfast &  Juanita’s Guest House.
7:00 Dinner at the Ignacio Springs B & B. Your time to enjoy the lagoon, or pick dates from the date palms and stargaze.
9:00 Retire to your sleeping quarters (Springs B&B Juanita’s, maybe La Pinta). Remember that we have an EARLY departure tomorrow morning for our drive to San Ignacio Lagoon.

Day 2

6:45 Up and at’em!
7:15  Breakfast
8:00  Departure to San Ignacio Lagoon (one-and-a-half to two hours, so don’t forget your water bottles and fresh fruit for the ride.)
9:45  Move gear into tents
10:30  Guided Whale Watching Boat Trip (about two hours)    
1:30 Lunch served in the Main Palapa at the Kuyima seaside lodge.
2:30  Your time on the beach.  Relax in the Main Palapa, or hike the lagoon beach. Our hosts at the Kuyima’ Lodge offer additional guided tours by car, bike or kayak to different natural and cultural highlights around the lagoon. This is on your own and there will be additional small fees.

6:30 Dinner in Main Palapa
7:30 Star Night Astronomy Program on the beach.
9:30 Bedtime, so in tents…

Day 3

8:00 Breakfast in Main Palapa
10:00  Second Boat Trip to view the whales, bring your cameras.
1:00  Lunch in Main Palapa, followed by packing for ride out
2:00  Departure to San Ignacio village
3:30  Move back into San Ignacio village lodging. More things to do in San Ignacio: One of the most beautiful churches on Baja (finished in 1786) surrounded by Laurel trees and Bougainvilla, in the Town Square.  Time on your own, or return to hotel for rest.
6:00 Dinner. Rene’s is popular, right on the town square or back to the B & B?
8:30 Nature Movie at the Springs, IMAX, The Blue Planet (see Baja from Space).

Day 4

8:00 Breakfast
9:00 Visit to Instituto Nacional de Antropologia e Historia.  There are many cave paintings nearby.  One cave may be within our time reach.  Open for discussion. (A guide must be hired if we go.)
12:30 Lunch
2:00  Departure to Santa Rosalia (This is the last bus of the day)
3:30  Move into the historic Hotel Francés. Relax and self-tour of the square and shopping.

7:00 Dinner, (maybe at Playa Negra on the waterfront? Or Cenaduria Gaby?)
8:00 Relax around the hotel and square – or maybe a trip to the harbor area?

Day 5

8:00 Breakfast at hotel
9:00  Hotel Check out
9:30  Arrival at Santa Rosilia Airport office
10:30  Departure Flight to Guaymas
11:15  Arrival GYM airport, Welcome Home!
